Martin early grew a strong interest for any watery creatures and at age fourteen he took up underwater photography. Later on he went to studying courses in marine biology, marine archaeology and photography. After having discovered the possibility to swim with killer whales in Lofoten, Norway, he stayed there for two years. In 1997 Martin started the company Makrillmedia as a way to make a living from photography, travelling and writing. Marine themes and underwater life is still his speciality, but besides this he also do other sorts of nature, cultural and travel photography. In 2007 he publiched Valarnas värld. A book following wale’s around the world seas. During work with books and magazine articles Martin has visited well over fourty countries. His unique photos can be found at the image agency, Johner, in Stockholm as well as in his own archive.
